This new edition of the Environment Report brings new activity pictures with updated and detailed information on the following topics:

· Restoration of the mined-out areas;
· Water quality control;
· Re-vegetation of the tailings reservoirs;
· Rehabilitation of the Batata lake.

In this edition, the latest topic stands out over the others. The chapter covering the Batata Lake shows scientific information stemming from the joint researches and monitoring programs developed by MRN and scientists of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – s UFRJ and the Federal University of Juiz de Fora – UFJF. Such information evinces the gradual restoration of the ecological equilibrium of the areas impacted by the beneficiation tailings thanks to actions so far taken, as well as by the natural recovery, and strengthen still further MRN’s commitment with the rehabilitation of the Batata Lake.
